Province of Jujuy and Humahuaca

More problems with 'blogging'...I am not sure, which, how many and how often these photos will turn up on the final blog page...there seems to be now way to check or correct the situation...high tech and its problems....apologies up front!

Leaving Pumarmarca we head further north into Jujuy to Humahuaca, a small town not quite as popular with tourists as Pumarmarca.

Agriculture thrives in the valley, but the surrounding mountains are bare of vegetation

Inviting path...however, it would be a hot trek to make it to the foot of these deserted hills

Downtown in Humahuaca

Musical lunch in one of the 'advanced' restaurants of town. This one actually had refrigeration in its kitchen, hence was considered 'safe' for visitors

Artisan shop at Humahuaca street corner

Despite being a small town, it has its very own very large monument. A long flight of stony stairs leads up to it

At the town's centre square - a small church

Woven textiles reflect the colour palette of the surrounding mountains

Selling hats to visitors...
Stone mosaics made from local rock
'We are a culture on the road to a globalised world'

High noon in Humahuaca
Accommodation with private bath and hot and cold running water - 24 hours a day
Pottery Store

Even the dogs look like llamas here...

The other side of the main intersection...amongst these tanks, walls and  corrugated sheet metal - the local market
