End of June in Cowichan Valley

Still waiting for the sun, and even more so for some warmth. The odd stint of summer weather brings us outdoors in droves, wondering and gazing...

Searching for a four leaf clover....

Traffic on Cowichan Bay Road....
...which we are supposed to share....
Cowichan Bay Fish Store, one of the best on Vancouver Island.
Even the entry door is adorned with locally made large hammered metal shrimps
Floating Mansion in Cowichan Bay
Cowichan Bay Cultural Centre, brand new, not a nail in the entire building, all beams - if curved - came pre formed straight from a tree.
Exhibiting hand carved boats, old photographs, paintings as well as staging a few musical evenings.
A Wooden Boats Association creates intricate examples of small dories laid up by hand, and lovingly varnished to perfection. You may win one!
Hilary, which is the name of a Cowichan Valley dairy farmer, raises goats and cows in his bucolic fields. He converts their milk into delicious hand crafted cheeses, which he sells at Saturday's Duncan farmers market as well as his Cowichan Bay licensed bistro - which affords a spectacular view over the water.
Lion's Mane jelly fish are competing with the red hull of Millennium Dragon
I like to be
under the Sea
in an Octopuse's garden
with Thee!!!
Saltspring Island on a foggy morning as seen from my kitchen
Table Mountain with table cloth, Northern Hemisphere Style....in Capetown in Africa, the cloth flows over the table mountain top...but here, funky Saltspring Island just does the opposite, it swirls around sea level.
