Dancing Empanadas at Cherry Point Vineyard

Second of June, the days are long and temperatures still hover around mid winter levels. A bit of drizzle added to the whole scene, and what else could one do, but have an outdoor party at one of the local wineries to 'undampen' one's spirits. Put on by the 'International Association' the well visited event offered genuine South American Empanadas, Colombian coffee, home baked cakes, Latin American music - all gratis and thanks to some governmental grant - with the opportunity to wash everything down with a cup of locally grown wine - purchased for a reasonable price.
Xavier (Ecuador) and Maria (Colombia) were hosts - and owners of the popular spot, and a couple of hundred people - multicultural, multinational and multigenerational, mingled and chatted on the pleasant albeit chilly terrace. Surrounded by neat rows of vines, flowering gardens and well tended lawns, people ate, drank, and danced amongst the bistro tables.

Between Duncan and Mill Bay lays Cherry Point, perched on a hill above the sea. Good soil and beneficial exposure to the sun, provide a mappy micro climate for a variety of vines to grow here.
Appetizers, the lead up to hot Empanadas (choice of gluten free indluded, this is BC after all).
