A great vista over nothing but sea and sky...a quiet morning heading east...
Unchanging, except that the sea sometimes gets a lillte lumpier, the sky a little cloudier, but otherwise, nothing but and endless 360 degree endlessly stretching body of water...
On Board tiles, depicting little MS Prinsendam
Hard at work, stripping rails of old paint and rust, and refinishing it with a fresh coat of white paint. A never ending task, cheerfully completed, re-completed and re-completed over and over again through the life of the ship by a cheerful and steadily working crew.
Keep those hands clean! Everything but everything on this ship is kept in almost aseptic conditions. In addition to these hand cleaning station, every entrance to every eating location is manned with a steward with a hand sanitizing squirter in hand. Not a single passenger can sneak by, without having to hold out his/her hands to receive and use a few droplets...just in case there are a few 'forgetful' passengers aboard.
Not exactly overcrowded on this ship, with only a complement of 75% of capacity of passengers aboard. Blessed peace and quiet.
Saint Patrick's day and all is green and full of shamrocks. Even the dance orchestra played When Irish Eyes are smiling and Danny Boy until midnight, and passengers wore GREEN, and dining stewards wore red beards - looking rather odd I must say.
Chefs manning the Lido food counter, concentrating on preparing the freshest, tastiest morsels.
Welcoming dining room steward, one of those who makes passengers desinfect their hands before entering - all done with a genuine smile.
The not so over the top center atrium of the Prinsendam. Mercifully this ship has not been 'improved' to the point that it looks tacky. Quite elegant indeed.
Yesterday's position at mid morning.
And that is where we are hanging out right now.
Lovely Lalique ceiling fixtures shine on the group of diners in the relativele small and intimate dining room, where service is discreet and excellent, food superb, and wines, ditto.
Pretty nice way to cross an ocean -
