24. March 2010 Vietnam - Moped Country...

70 Miles of highway between our port, Phu My, and Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and an unending stream of mopeds all the way.
Anything apart from just people, even live pigs and sewing machines, is transported on mopeds. Sometimes piles so high, that the driver is invisible, and negotiating throngs of traffic becomes perilous. But, stuff moves...fast and cheap.
All drivers wear helmets, some wear face masks to filter out dust and smog.
Vast hordes plug the streets of Saigon, crossing any intersection feels like negotiating through a swarm of bees.
