11. July 2009, Adrift in Stuart Channel

Transferring from De Courcy Island to Wallace Island today, about 12-15 miles south from here, depending on route taken.
Had to leave about 10:00 a.m. (to have depth under keel..) and have to arrive at the other end about 4:00 p.m. (depth under keel). What to do in between?
Not a cloud in the sky, not a breath of wind, about 25 degrees centigrade...
One takes the boat into an open bit of water, Stuart Channel, shuts everything off, and enjoys the absolute peace on a little, red, floating island: One sips a little juice, nibbles a tidbit, and watches the drift...don't want to slip onto Danger Reef or Miami Rock. The boat moves imperceptively to the ebb current, carrying me south at 0.1 Knot.
One writes a little blogism, and sends it off via cell phone.
